Your Challenge
Actually, it’s more like a dilemma: You want to use remote monitoring of your network protection equipment in order to contain costs while increasing reliability. But compromising network security with remote monitoring “holes” could actually increase vulnerability…even if you could get an OK from the security team.
The Emerson Network Power solution
The Virtual Ntegrity Gateway, a hardware appliance that -- thanks to patented “outbound push” technology -- leaves no holes in your network protection to exploit. Every periodic report is a separate, encrypted burst, and the protocol is dismantled after each burst. If an Emerson Network Power engineer needs outside access to a piece of your equipment to clarify issues, the unit manages a mutually-consented secure connection that is deleted after the session is complete.
Installed at the units being monitored, the Virtual Ntegrity Gateway delivers a regular burst of data to Emerson Network Power’s High Availability Response Center. That data is monitored for both current problems and future trends to catch and report issues before they cause problems. Alarms can be set for almost any parameter, and trends can be “tuned” to meet unique customer specifications.
The Result
Decreased costs, thanks to aggregated remote monitoring of dozens – even hundreds -- of protective devices like UPS and batteries. And – with no VPN’s to manage -- much lower security risks as well as reduced network administration costs.
You also get the collective experience -- and collected wisdom -- of the only world-wide monitoring and protection company in the industry. More than 35,000 customers in 70 countries depend on Emerson Network Power to protect their vital systems.
