Liebert Introduces First Software-Scalable UPS

• Software Scalable – You can purchase 40 kVA of UPS capacity today, then scale to 60 kVA and 80 kVA without adding hardware. A larger Liebert NX with Softscale technology can scale from 80 kVA to 100 kVA to 120 kVA.
  
  
• Easier Growth and Redundancy – Liebert NX with Softscale offers the ability to parallel modules of like or unlike ratings to grow capacity and add redundancy. For example, start with a single Liebert NX module to meet current needs, then grow capacity through Softscale technology. As your power needs increase, an additional Liebert NX Softscale module of any capacity can be paralleled with the original module. Up to three of these UPS units may be paralleled for a maximum capacity of 360 kVA or parallel up to four modules for redundancy.
  
  
• Optimal Efficiency - We’ve optimized the efficiency curve in the new 40-120 kVA Liebert NX models, so they operate with the same high efficiency at 50% utilization as they do at 100% utilization. The 97 percent efficiency rating of the Liebert NX with Softscale exceeds the 95 percent “state-of-the-art” designation published by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.

The Liebert NX with Softscale is designed to give IT managers the flexibility to add UPS capacity on demand while maintaining high efficiency levels, maximizing capital investments, and minimizing operational expenses. This reliable, flexible and cost-effective UPS enables a simpler, faster response to unpredictable changes in data center equipment without adding to the data center footprint.

With the standard IT rack form-factor, the new Liebert NX with Softscale can be positioned in a row of racks alongside the equipment it protects to optimize space utilization.

An available start-up package for the Liebert NX with Softscale includes one-year remote service delivery that provides monthly equipment health reports, alarm retrieval and warehousing, escalation management and 24 x 7 emergency response from the service business of Emerson Network Power. Remote service delivery will help you evaluate whether equipment capacity meets current and future load needs, and proactively troubleshoots potential issues before they become major problems.
