Columbus, Ohio (February 23, 2010) — Emerson Network Power, a business of Emerson (NYSE: EMR) and the global leader in enabling Business-Critical Continuity™, in strategic partnership with Computer Sites, Inc., and Siemens Industries, Inc., recently was awarded the Power Conditioning Continuation Interfacing Equipment (PCCIE) contract for the U.S. Air Force—the largest Air Force contract for uninterruptible power supply (UPS) systems and a win that could be worth as much as $568.5 million over the course of the contract.
Emerson Network Power will provide Liebert UPS systems, Liebert power distribution units and other Liebert products and engineering services under terms of the five-year, multiple-award contract and two, one-year option periods. As the prime contractor on this contract, Computer Sites Inc. (CSI) will be responsible for project design, engineering, installation and construction. The incumbent provider had been the sole-source award winner for the last 21 years.
“This contract is a nice addition to our growing government business and a source of pride for our organization,” said Chuck Spears, president, of Emerson Network Power’s Liebert products business in North America. “These Liebert UPS systems will provide state-of-the-art power protection for critical systems supporting U.S. Air Force missions around the world.”
PCCIE is the Air Force program office responsible for commissioning UPS replacements and new deployments. The contract calls for Emerson Network Power to provide UPS systems and support on an as-needed basis to the Air Force and is open to the Department of Defense and other government-affiliated agencies. The first order under the contract calls for two Liebert Npower UPS systems for Elmendorf AFB in Alaska.
